Gary Page with grandson Christian at the end of their 71-day bike ride from California to Virginia in 2016. This is the ceremonial front wheel dip in the Atlantic at the end, after the rear wheel was dipped in the Pacific at the beginning.
Gary and his then 13 year old grandson Christian rode bicycles across the country to raise money for Multiple Sclerosis research. Gary’s wife, Connie, had suffered from MS and Christian wanted to honor his grandmother with this ride. He hoped that more research could relieve the suffering of those with MS. They rode 3900 miles, from California to Virginia, in 71 days. Gary had made this same cross country bicycle ride 10 years earlier, but this time grandfather and grandson rode together in hopes of advancing MS research.
