Harold Moore
This photo was taken in 1960 when Harold Moore had been picking ear corn using an Allis Chalmers tractor and a Wood Bros corn picker. Harold made the wagon using edge grain wood which is hard to find now. The edge grain wood was used so the scoop shovel would not catch on the wood. This wagon was last seen being used as a float in the Wilmington Corn Festival Parade.
Harold Moore in 1960, using elevator to unload wagon of ear corn and put in corn bin. This small corn bin was on runners so it could be pulled into the field where the hogs were. The end of the wagon was lifted using hydraulics. But, of course, all the corn would slide down all at once, so Harold created a swinging door on the bottom end of the wagon so he could control how fast the corn flowed.
